Soon, it was confirmed that the film will be produced by Nani and Prashanti Tipirneni through Wall Poster Cinema. In 2017, Varma narrated his story to actor Nani. Two months later, Neelakanta left the film, and was replaced by Prashanth Varma.
In September 2017, it was revealed that Tamannaah would work on the Telugu version of the film which would be directed by Neelakanta.
